Bill Liley joins staff as Director of Hoopaholics East

After finishing his undergraduate degree at UW, Liley served as Athletic Coordinator and Assistant Boys Basketball Coach at Mercer Island High School from 1998 – 2001. While coaching with the State’s career leader in wins, Ed Pepple, Liley helped coach the Islanders to the 1999 3A State Championship. As an assistant at MI, Liley went to state each season and placed. He served three years as the Head Coach at Shorecrest High School from 2002-2005.

Liley’s coaching style includes set plays into motion offense, and a team man-to-man defense. In addition he is vitally concerned with each player’s skill development as well as his growth as a person. Liley’s philosophy strives to have each player gain an understanding of how to play basketball and compete “The right way!”
